A quick guide to the game

Select a face-up card, then a destination column. Dragging also works.

A different kind of sequence

Keep these points in mind. Moves build down in the same suit rather than allowing cross-suit destinations. Four complete King-to-Ace runs clear the game. Scorpion on shanxijsy.com uses one 52-card deck with four suits. The tableau has seven columns.

Read the opening cards

Here are the details for this mode. All cards in the last three columns are face up. Each opening column contains seven cards for a total of 49 tableau cards. The first three cards in each of the first four columns are face down. Three cards remain in the stock.

Build in the same suit

The following details apply here. A moved group's leading card must land on a card exactly one rank higher in the same suit. A King cannot land on another card because no higher rank exists. A seven of hearts can land on an exposed eight of hearts. A seven of hearts cannot land on an eight of spades.

Move exposed groups

A few details help explain this feature. Any face-up card can be selected together with every card beneath it. The selected cards do not need to descend in rank to travel together. The leading selected card still has to meet the destination rule. The selected cards do not need to share a suit to travel together.

Only Kings fill empty space

Keep these points in mind. An empty column is therefore less flexible than an empty column in ordinary Spider. An empty column accepts a King or a group led by a King. A group led by a lower rank cannot enter an empty column. Cards beneath a moved King do not need to be in sequence.

Uncover another choice

A few details help explain this feature. Undo restores the earlier hidden-card arrangement when the move is reversed. The next hidden card is revealed automatically. An exposed card can carry the cards beneath it when its own destination is legal. Removing all face-up cards above a hidden card turns that hidden card face up.

The final three cards

Keep these points in mind. This Scorpion version permits its stock deal when columns are empty. The stock contains one final deal of three cards. There are no further stock cards after the three-card deal. Dealing places a face-up card on each of the first three columns.

Complete a suit

A few details help explain this feature. The game removes a qualifying run automatically from the bottom of a column. All thirteen cards in a collected run must be face up. A completed run must descend from King to Ace in one suit. Moving an unordered group does not make that group a completed sequence.

Practice Scorpion decisions

Here are the details for this mode. A move can carry unwanted cards along with a useful leading card. Hint lists legal choices without promising a winning continuation. Checking the whole moved group helps you anticipate what will become blocked. Replay and Undo let you explore another approach to the same layout.
